What Buyers Ask Before They Order
What does FishPrint actually trace?
Every FishPrint record ties a product back to its vessel or farm, catch or harvest date, gear or farming method, lat/lon coordinates, DNA verification timestamp, and cold-chain log. Scan the QR code on any ProFish box or see the record in your account dashboard. How current is the data on my shipment?
Catch and handling events are logged within hours of occurring. Cold-chain telemetry updates continuously from dock to delivery — the record you pull up on receipt is the live record, not an end-of-month report. What happens if a species can't be verified?
A product with a failed DNA check never ships. If a verification is inconclusive after a shipment has left, we notify you, pull the lot, and replace or credit — no restocking fees, no paperwork. Mislabeling is the reason this system exists. Can I request an ad-hoc DNA test on my order?
Yes. Wholesale and retail customers can request a supplemental DNA test on any species at any time. In-house turnaround is under 48 hours and results attach to that order’s FishPrint record.Do you share trace data with chefs' menus or retail packaging?
We provide chef-ready catch data (species, origin, method) that can be printed on menus or QR-linked for diners. For retail, the FishPrint QR code on each package opens the full record on any phone.
